Safety always comes first. Because we specialise in flights from Mount Pilatus, we know the terrain and local weather patterns in detail and are fully prepared for the challenges of this mountain. Our years of experience help us reduce residual risks as much as possible.
Since all of our pilots also work in other professions, we are financially independent from daily flight operations. That’s why we can put safety first—without compromise.
This mix of passion, experience and professionalism ensures your tandem paragliding flight is not only unforgettable, but as safe as possible.
Thanks to an altitude difference of almost 1600 metres between the take-off site on Pilatus and the landing field in Kriens, we guarantee a flight time of at least 15 to 20 minutes—regardless of the weather conditions.
Compared to many other tandem paragliding operators who often launch from lower sites, our flight times aren’t optimistic estimates. They’re reality.
Pilatus offers ideal conditions for tandem paragliding in almost all wind directions. All our take-off sites are relatively steep, which means even heavier passengers (up to 100 kg, and up to 120 kg on selected days) can take off safely.
The steeper slope also reduces how fast you need to run—perfect for anyone who might struggle on flatter launch sites. The only requirement is sturdy footwear, so you can walk safely on the steep paths.
Every pilot on our team has at least 8 years of paragliding experience—many of us have 20 or even 30 years.
Our equipment is inspected, certified and safety-checked every year by independent testing institutes. We also always fly with a reserve parachute, which is inspected annually as well. For our passengers, we provide helmets to further increase safety during take-off and landing.
Meet our tandem pilots here. With one click on “Book a flight with me now”, you’ll go straight to the pilot’s calendar where you can instantly check availability and book.
If you’d like to learn more about the person behind the wing, head to the “Pilot profile” for extra details — such as flight experience, favourite take-off sites, or what motivates them to fly.
Our landing field is located directly behind the cable car valley station in Kriens. A special highlight: you can also meet us up on the mountain. This gives you the option to arrive 2–3 hours earlier, enjoy lunch in one of the mountain restaurants, take in the views, and finish your day with an unforgettable tandem flight—the perfect finale to your mountain visit.
On weekends, we also offer late-afternoon flights to Alpnach. From there, you can take a boat back to Lucerne—a genuinely scenic way to end the day.
Thanks to its location, Pilatus is well protected and often offers stable flying conditions even during foehn winds. With nearby weather stations, we can reliably assess during the day when flights may no longer be possible.
In our inspiration section you’ll find videos with detailed information about our launch sites. They’re helpful both for passengers who want a first impression and for pilots who want to understand the specific challenges and fine details of flying on Pilatus.
If the wind at the Pilatus summit is too strong (around 5% of cases), we use alternative launch sites (Klimsen or Chilchsteinen). These are about a 20-minute walk from the mountain station, reachable via a well-maintained but steeper hiking path.
A basic level of sure-footedness is required—and of course we support our passengers if needed.
My name is Samuel Metzger and I’ve lived at the foot of Pilatus for over 20 years. For me, this mountain is far more than an impressive backdrop—it’s a place full of adventure and unforgettable moments. Climbing, highlining, hiking, overnight adventures or paragliding: Pilatus offers endless possibilities, and I’ve experienced them all. It never gets boring here.
Together with my team, I offer tandem flights at this unique location. Pilatus is one of the most beautiful mountains in Switzerland and comes with breathtaking views of the 4000m peaks of the Alps. On clear days, you can even see as far as the Black Forest in Germany.
A paragliding flight above Lucerne and Lake Lucerne is a truly unique experience—one that stays with you.
My second big passion—photography and videography—pairs perfectly with the spectacular world of tandem paragliding. That’s why we’re the first tandem flight company to offer professionally edited videos.
With our Premium Video Package, you can capture your adventure in top quality and relive it anytime.
