Premium flight with a guaranteed minimum airtime – with fair refund policy
A tandem paragliding flight from Mt. Pilatus above Lucerne is already spectacular. The Dragon Flight is the version for people who want the full experience: long airtime, thermals, optional manoeuvres, and the feeling of actually travelling through the sky – not just gliding down once.
It’s also one of the easiest “big mountain” paragliding experiences to reach as a day trip from Zurich or Central Switzerland: you’ll meet us in Kriens (Lucerne area) or up on Pilatus, and we’ll handle the rest.

You want the maximum out of your tandem flight? The Dragon Flight is built for that.
Instead of going straight down to the landing site, we aim to use the air: finding smooth lift, circling in thermals, and—when conditions line up—stretching the flight into a real mini cross-country adventure above Lake Lucerne, along the Pilatus ridge, and high over the Lucerne region.
What makes it different: you usually have enough height and time to combine the highlights in one flight:
You can steer the paraglider with your pilot’s guidance (if conditions allow)
Optional manoeuvres for the adrenaline crowd
Longer airtime using lift and thermals
Unhurried, premium pacing – no rushing, no “factory vibe”
This is our premium product, so we put the promise in writing:
If we do not reach the guaranteed minimum airtime of 35 minutes due to weather/conditions, you automatically receive a refund equal to the difference compared to the Mountain Crow price — fair, transparent, and without discussion.
Make your flight even more memorable with optional add-ons (selectable during booking) or if available during the experience:
20–40 photos + two raw videos directly from your flight.
We transfer everything straight to your phone.
Price: + CHF 40
Tight schedule or connecting plans?
This option guarantees a fixed take-off time with priority in flight planning.

Note: Not valid in extreme weather — in that case, you and your pilot will find a good alternative.
Fly on the same day and share the Pilatus experience — ideally in the air at the same time.
In the booking form, simply add your friend’s name (who also has a booking).
Price: + CHF 10
Note: If we can’t secure a second pilot, you’ll fly one after the other.
In that case, we won’t charge the add-on.
A professionally edited 1–2 minute video with music and a unique second-camera perspective.
Includes: raw footage, 3 stickers, portrait or landscape format.
Price: + CHF 85
A longer edited video (4–6 minutes) from multiple cameras, with music.
Includes: T-shirt, photos & stickers — the full memory package.
Price: + CHF 135
Note: Meeting point must be at the valley station, because the cable car ride is included in the video.
There’s no strict age limit, but a basic level of fitness is required. Flying isn’t ideal for children under six, though it may be possible after prior consultation – as long as they meet the minimum height requirement of 1.20 meters.
Minimum height: 1.20 meters
Maximum height: 2.20 meters
Weight: 15 to 100 kg – Flights for passengers over 100 kg are possible on selected days with strong updrafts.
Please note: Flights must be done sober. For safety reasons, full responsiveness and decision-making ability are required.
Up to 48 hours before your flight, you can reschedule yourself or cancel for a 95% refund or a voucher—after that, the deposit is retained, and within 24 hours the flight is charged. (GTC)
Reschedule until 48h before: Change your date online yourself (no support needed).
Cancel until 48h before: Choose 95% refund or a voucher.
Less than 48h before: The deposit is kept to cover planning and short-notice cancellation costs.
Within 24h / no-show: The flight is charged and any voucher entitlement expires, as the slot can rarely be rebooked at such short notice.
You book the Dragon Flight for long airtime. If the guaranteed minimum of 35 minutes cannot be reached due to conditions, you receive a refund equal to the difference to the Mountain Crow price automatically.
Yes — as long as you want the longer “full experience”. You don’t need prior experience. Your pilot explains everything step by step, and you can choose a moderatly calm scenic flight or a more sporty style depending on conditions.
Often, yes. If conditions allow, your pilot can let you try steering under guidance. Safety and weather always decide.
If you want it and conditions are appropriate, dynamic manoeuvres are possible. If you prefer a calm flight, we keep it smooth and scenic.
Very. Mt. Pilatus is in Central Switzerland near Lucerne, and meeting in Kriens makes logistics easy. Plan 2.5–3 hours for the whole experience once you meet your pilot.
Paragliding is always weather-dependent, and the pilot makes the final safety call on the day. If conditions aren’t safe (or change unexpectedly), your flight will be moved to the next suitable date/time slot whenever possible.
If an alternative date isn’t possible, you can request a 95% refund of the flight price. Please note that any already incurred third-party costs (for example, mountain railway tickets) may be deducted from the refund amount.
If you can’t attend the proposed replacement date due to travel plans, then the standard cancellation terms apply. You’ll find all refund and rescheduling details in our Terms & Conditions (AGB)
Easy to reach (public transport or car): Pilatus and the Pilatus cable car valley station in Kriens (Lucerne area) are convenient to reach by train/bus or car — a popular choice for travellers staying in Lucerne or visiting Switzerland on a short itinerary.
Typical travel time to Kriens (valley station): from many major Swiss cities such as Zurich, Basel or Winterthur, you can often reach the valley station in around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on connections and traffic.
Total experience time: plan 2.5 to 3.5 hours from meeting to landing (including briefing, cable car logistics, and waiting for suitable wind).
On very smooth days (no queues, perfect timing), it can be quicker — but for stress-free scheduling, assume the full window.
Meeting point: usually Pilatus cable car valley station in Kriens or up on Mt. Pilatus (depending on what you choose during the booking process).
Landing: typically back in the city (often in the Kriens, weekend alternatives such as Alpnach or Lucerne may be possible depending on operations).
The three offers differ in planned flight time, use of thermals and intensity.
All flights launch—depending on the wind—from Pilatus Kulm or Klimsen and land in Kriens. The actual duration always depends on the weather and safety decisions.
The actual time in the air ranges from 15 minutes to 50 minutes depending on the package, and the overall experience takes about 1½ to 3 hours. Flight time depends on wind, thermals and safety margins.
Additional time is needed for meeting up, briefing, the ride on the cable car and any waiting for optimal launch conditions. Especially with thermal flights it can make sense to wait for the right wind window—safety takes precedence over schedules.
The altitude difference is around 1,200–1,600 metres depending on the launch site—additional height is possible in thermals. Pilatus has impressive topography. From Kulm or Klimsen there is already a large vertical drop down to the landing site in Kriens even without updrafts. In good conditions, especially with the Adler or Drache flights, additional height can be gained.
If the guaranteed minimum flight time of 35 minutes is not reached on a Drache flight, we refund the difference to the Bergdohle price. The guarantee applies only to the Drache flight. If weather forces us to land before 35 minutes, there is an automatic price reduction to the corresponding base offer.
We do not artificially extend flights against nature or at the expense of safety margins. The final decision always lies with the pilot.
The Steinbock Safari combines a guided hike in the Pilatus area with a subsequent tandem flight. This experience is aimed at nature‑loving guests who want more than just a flight. The safari requires sure‑footedness and normal fitness. In good conditions the flight time can be extended to one hour, but this depends on the weather.
Optional add‑ons include photo and video service, premium video, “Fly with a Friend” and fixed time slots.
Add‑ons can be selected during booking or—depending on availability—added on site.
Yes. If a safe start is not possible on Pilatus, alternative flight areas may be considered. Depending on the weather we occasionally switch to other suitable launch sites such as Engelberg, Büehlen or Niederbauen. This decision is based solely on safety criteria. Flight time and experience can vary.
If no suitable flight is possible, the rules for postponement or cancellation according to our Terms and Conditions apply.
Yes, a spontaneous upgrade to a longer package is possible if conditions and time slots allow. For example, if you book a Bergdohle and good thermals are present, the flight can be extended and charged as a Drache. The upgrade takes place situationally during the flight and only if there is time between subsequent flights. There is no guarantee of an upgrade.
