Multiple tandem flights in one time window – share the sky together.

“Fly with a Friend” is not a separate flight product; it’s an add‑on that synchronises two or more individual tandem flights. Our pilots coordinate the timing so you can take off close together and, if conditions allow, fly side by side. Perfect for friends, couples or family members who want to share the moment.
Important: Start times are planned as closely as possible but not to the second. Weather and logistics may mean a short gap (often around a minute) between takeoffs. Our focus is on flying together safely and enjoying the same time window.
This add‑on can be added to any of our flights – the Mountain Crow, Eagle, Dragon or Ibex Safari (a hike‑and‑fly option). Just choose “Fly with a Friend” during booking and enter your companion’s name in the notes.
With two passengers, we can often launch from adjacent spots. When two start areas are available (e.g. at Pilatus Kulm), takeoffs can happen within seconds. If only one start site is usable or the wind shifts, the second takeoff may occur a minute later. Once airborne, pilots usually meet up again to fly side by side.
Three people can share the same time slot. Typically two take off together, and the third follows shortly after. The first tandems gain altitude and wait above the start area so the group can reunite in the air.
For larger groups or when not enough pilots are available, flights are organised in waves. A typical example: a group of four flies in a 2 + 2 arrangement. After the first pair lands, pilots return up the mountain for the next wave. The starts occur close together or in successive rounds.
Our goal is that no one waits alone. If weather or scheduling make a short wait necessary, we provide a relaxed atmosphere – coffee with a view is on us, and the “Fly with a Friend” fee is waived for the person who waits.

One member of your group can book all flights in a single transaction by adding multiple flights to the cart. Important: please include all names or a team name in the booking notes (e.g. “Team Highflyers”) so we can link the individual bookings and coordinate your pilots. All communication will go to the person who made the booking, so please pass on the details to your companions.
Each person can book and pay for their flight separately. Simply add your friend’s or group’s name in the notes field. We’ll link your bookings on our end and plan to get you airborne together.
They come for the view — and leave with a story to tell.
Posted on Tasnim H M AlhowTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an absolutely incredible tandem paragliding flight from Pilatus with Sam. He was super friendly, patient, and clearly very experienced, which made me feel completely safe and relaxed the entire time. Flying high above Lucerne was unforgettable — the views were breathtaking, and I felt truly free up in the sky. Thanks, Sam, for giving me these amazing memories that I’ll cherish forever. Highly recommend this experience to anyone considering it!Posted on Balthasar StöckliTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Die Aussicht vom Pilatus war legendär! Book your flight on the same day, select the “Fly with a Friend” add‑on and provide your group name. We’ll handle the coordination so you can truly share the adventure
Whenever possible, we plan your tandem flights so you can take off very close to each other.
At Mt. Pilatus, there are launch areas where two paragliders can prepare side by side. In ideal wind conditions, takeoffs can happen within seconds. If only one launch site is usable or the wind changes, the second takeoff may follow shortly after — usually within about a minute.
The focus of the “Fly with a Friend” add-on is a shared experience within the same time window — not perfectly synchronized takeoffs to the second.
Our goal is always that you experience the flight together, from preparation to landing.
In most cases, yes.
Especially in good thermal conditions, tandem pilots often meet again in the air. You may fly side by side, wave to each other, or circle in the same lift area above Pilatus.
If takeoffs are slightly staggered, the first tandem can gain altitude above the launch site and wait so you can reconnect in the air.
Even in the unlikely case that you don’t meet directly, you are never “alone.” Each passenger is accompanied by an experienced pilot at all times, and the shared experience still happens before and after the flight.
Yes — with realistic planning.
We currently operate with a core team of pilots whose calendars are directly linked to our booking system, plus an extended pool of additional pilots who can support larger group requests.
However, tandem paragliding in Central Switzerland is typically organized in smaller waves rather than large simultaneous launches.
Example structures:
6 people → 3 + 3
8 people → 4 + 4
10 people → 5 + 5 (requires early planning)
Flights are then coordinated in consecutive rounds, depending on pilot availability, weather, and launch logistics.
The earlier you book, the more closely we can align your flights.
Option 1:
One person books all flights for the group in a single reservation.
Option 2:
Each person books individually and pays separately.
Important in both cases:
Please mention the names of the people you want to fly with — or provide a shared group name in the booking notes.
Our system creates individual bookings per passenger and pilot. Using names or group identifiers allows us to reconnect and coordinate your flights internally.
Sometimes — but only if you want it to.
When tandem pilots fly together, they often align their route choices. For example, if one pilot enters a thermal lift or follows a specific ridge line, the second pilot may follow so you remain close to each other.
If you prefer a more individual flight style — for example calmer, longer, or more dynamic — you can always discuss this directly with your pilot before takeoff.
Shared experience and personal flight preferences can easily be combined.
In practice, all tandem paragliding providers operate under the same physical constraints:
One passenger requires one pilot
Equipment must be available
Launch space is limited
Conditions must be safe
Some providers accept large group bookings first and coordinate pilots afterward.
Operationally, this usually still results in staggered flight waves — often in two to four rounds depending on group size and conditions.
Our approach is to communicate these logistics transparently upfront, so expectations match reality.
Instead of promising full simultaneity, we plan realistically — with the goal of launching you as close together as conditions allow while maintaining safety and quality.
