Pilatus Paragliding Weather – Thermal Alert for Great Flying Days

We’ll email you when Pilatus is forecast to have excellent conditions for paragliding and tandem flights.

Maximum one email every 3 days. No spam. Unsubscribe anytime.

Pilatus flying weather determines whether a tandem paragliding flight will be calm and scenic or long and thermal-powered. When wind, stability, and thermals align, you get ideal conditions for an extended tandem flight above Lucerne.

With our Pilatus weather alert, we’ll notify you as soon as such days are on the horizon.

Want to get the maximum out of your tandem flight?

On some days, Pilatus weather allows long, active flights with strong thermals — perfect conditions for our Dragon Flight with a guaranteed flight time.

If you’re flexible, we’ll message you the day before as soon as forecasts indicate very good conditions.
Of course, you can also book the Eagle Flight on those days.
For the Mountain Crow, these days are almost “too good” — because we don’t fully use the thermals on that flight.

On particularly strong thermal days, cross-country flights can even be possible. If you’re looking for adventure and you’re максимально flexible, you can book a private pilot. Then we decide together on the day how far we go — toward Interlaken, Thun, or across Central Switzerland.

These days are rare. But when they happen, they’re unforgettable.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Weather Alert

Is this a normal newsletter?

No. We don’t send regular updates or advertising. You only get an email when we expect excellent flying conditions at Pilatus. Our goal is quality, not frequency.

How often will I receive an email?

It depends heavily on the season. During stable high-pressure periods, multiple great days can occur in a row. In more changeable weather, there are fewer ideal conditions. We always notify you the day before and, when possible, combine several good consecutive days into a single email.

When exactly will you notify me?

The alert is sent the day before when forecasts indicate very good conditions for the next day. That gives you enough time to book spontaneously — especially if you’re flexible.

Does the alert guarantee perfect conditions?

No. We provide a solid assessment based on weather data and experience — but flying weather is nature. Conditions can change at short notice, and we may land earlier or not take off at all.
If you want maximum reliability, we recommend the Dragon Flight with guaranteed flight time. If our forecast deteriorates significantly and we only reach a short flight time, you’ll receive the difference back compared to the Mountain Crow.
